About Rick Martin
Rick Martin is a financial services industry veteran. He has been educating and assisting pre-retirees and retirees on comprehensive retirement solutions since 2000. As a Senior Financial Planner at Szarka Financial, Rick’s mission is to provide individuals with the insight they need to make informed decisions about their retirement future and direction on how to maintain financial independence throughout their retirement years.
In addition to managing their retirement assets, he takes a holistic approach to comprehensive planning, and offers guidance on tax reduction strategies, estate planning, as well as succession planning. Rick prides himself in having provided objective financial education to numerous outplaced executives through seminars presented at leading outplacement firms, as well as some of the leading companies in Northeast Ohio.
Prior to joining Szarka Financial, Rick spent twenty-five plus years with organizations such as National City Bank, Progressive Corporation and Cole National Corporation. When he became a financial planner, Rick’s desire was to give his clients more confidence with all of their financial matters. And as a Certified Financial Planner®, Rick is able to provide his clients with thorough, well-rounded advice designed to help achieve their financial goals.
Rick graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Quantitative Methods. Rick has been involved in a variety of local charities and civic organizations over the years. He has served on the board of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of Prevent Blindness Ohio, was a member of the Chagrin Highlands Rotary Club and most recently involved with The Gathering Place, a community for those touched by cancer. Rick lives with his wife Emily and four children in Pepper Pike.
